PRP Therapy For Hair Loss

Androgenetic Alopecia or ‘male pattern-baldness’ is a common cause of hair loss that affects both men and woman, and is often linked to depression and low self-esteem. PRP was recently developed as an effective treatment.

An independent study of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia over a one-year period by Dr Gkini and colleagues found that PRP was an effective treatment for both men and women, with a high patients’ satisfaction rating and without remarkable adverse effects. A similar independent study of PRP’s effectiveness by Dr Khatu and colleagues reveals the same findings, calling PRP a “simple, cost-effective and feasible treatment option for hair loss” with an “excellent safety profile” at relatively low cost.
