What is Trichophytic closure?
Simply the best way to suture the donor wound. Trichophytic Closure is a technique used to make the scars caused by the removal of the strip of skin practically invisible. Further advantages over previously used methods are that the scar becomes a lot finer. One side of the existing skin is cut at an oblique angle so that hair follicles slowly grow through the tissue (i.e. through the ensuing scar), thereby concealing the scar and making it possible to cut the hair as short as 0.5 cm.
