Traction Alopecia

Traction alopecia resulting from years of braiding can permanently damage hair growth. It arises when, over time, the constant weight of the braids causes trauma to the hair follicles, which eventually die.
Hair transplant surgery can effectively restore the lost hair, provided the donor hair is not, itself, affected by the hair loss.
The Wimpole Clinic is able to advise on the feasibility of treatment for traction alopecia and undertake the hair transplant surgery required.
