Denise - Hair & Eyebrows Replacement

In 2007 I noticed that my hair appeared to be getting quite thin on the crown of my head and my scalp had become very dry and scaly so I decided to attend a Hair Clinic in London for advice. I was prescribed the use of Minoxidil daily, together with monthly visits to the clinic for hair and scalp treatment. Over a period of time my scalp seemed to improve, but I was still concerned about my thinning hair.

Finally I was referred on to a specialist clinic, The Wimpole Clinic who could offer an alternative treatment which involved individual hair transplants. I was extremely interested in this concept and arranged an appointment. At this point I was very impressed to learn that this initial visit did not involve a consultation fee.

At reception Davina and Paula were really welcoming and friendly and I was made to feel quite relaxed. The actual consultation was with Mr May and Mr Olding, who both agreed that a transplant was possible. So I decided to go ahead with the procedure and on December 18, 2008 I had 1078 grafts to my crown.

Following the success of this procedure, I then found out it was possible to have a similar procedure, but this time to restore my eyebrows . I made the decision to have this done and on February 2, 2010 I had 375 grafts to my eyebrows. I also decided to have one more hair transplant session to the front of my head, which was completed on February 27, 2010 with 1019 grafts.

Pre-operation involved an oral form of relaxant which made me drowsy and therefore not really aware of the removal of the donor hair from the back of my head and the subsequent placement. Of the three procedures I must say that the most labour intensive (almost 8 hours) was the eyebrow operation. All were performed with such professionalism by the Wimpole Team whose care, dedication, attention to detail, not to mention patience, are second to none. I am truly so grateful to them. Every detail of my aftercare was explained with absolute clarity.

Finally, any other ad hoc visits I have made have been treated with the same level of professionalism. I always feel welcome whenever I feel the need to speak to, or see the consultants. I know I am regarded as a valued client.

My name is Denise and I’m 60+. – It’s never too late !

This is a true and voluntary account of my experience with The Wimpole Clinic.
